Armamar|Viseu|Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro The Casa da Farmacia is a hundred-year-old house built in 1904, and subsequently rebuilt by our family to maintain its more charismatic features: the beautiful granite façade and stone walls, the terraces over the garden and the farmhouse of the town of Armamar; the large fireplace and oven used in the old days for smoking food; its exclusive front door, unique to the region, at a height of over 4 metres. The restoration of the house was carefully carried out to maintain its rural charm and equip it with all the modern comforts. The Casa da Farmacia has a charming patio, full of flowers and a lounge area and bar equipped with a plasma TV and cable channels, where guests can sample wines from the Duero region, relax and enjoy board games or computer games. There is also a pleasant dining room for breakfasts and dinners, as well as 10 suites which are elegantly decorated and equipped with a private toilet, central heating, TV, air-conditioning and free wireless internet access. The Casa da Farmacia enjoys the best location in Armamar, situated in the old quarter of the town and in the heart of the Duero (a region granted world heritage status by UNESCO) and just a few metres from the river Duero, near wine-producing villages, medieval routes and at close proximity to places steeped in history, culture and artistic interest. This prime location places guests of the Casa da Farmacia within easy access of beautiful vineyards and wineries where they can participate in wine tourism activities and tastings. Dedicated to tourism since 1979, Casa de Abbades today offers as accommodation three apartments, each with two double bedrooms (sleeps 4) or T1 units (2 pax). Accomodation includes homemade breakfast served in the apartments, daily cleaning, access to gardens and pool, free wood supply for openfire and barbecue facilities. Meals can be served on request in the apartments, garden or pool. Guests also have other services like laundry and babysitting at their disposal. Casa de Abbades has two large apartments (ground floor and upper floor), that were once the house of the cottager – A Casa do Manel.
